PS-504??

Post by joe » Sun Dec 28, 2008 3:21 am

I can't seem to find the All Electronics PS-504 5V power adapter referred to in the BBB intructuions pdf on the All Electronics website. Is the part number a typo?

I'm afraid that part number is long one at All Electronics. The specified model also had a 1.3mm jack too, and we've since switched to 2.1mm unless you have an older board.

I'd recommend 1A @ 6V supply if you can find it. Anything with a 2.1mm jack, center positive in the 6-9 range will work fine. A regulated 5V supply will also work too, if you want to bypass the regulator on the BBB.

This looks good to me at All Electronics

CAT# PS-960
9VDC 600MA SWITCHING POWER SUPPLY
Industria Brasileira #PS962-A041S. Input: 100-240V 50/60Hz, 0.1A. Output: 9VDC, 600mA. 6' cord. Coax power plug, 2.1mm id x 5.5mm od. Tip positive.

I've got some CUI power supplies I got from digikey. Not up on the website yet but you can order one at the bottom of the shipping page. Something like "Wall adapter" "$9" I think they're 6V at 1A but I don't have the part number handy right now.

Hope that helps,

Thanks for the info. Found this at a local store. A little more explensive (and possibly overkill) but figured it might can in handy in other circumstances. http://www.monstermarketplace.com/Elect ... a2344.html
