Wind sensor

Post by Gbelcik » Sat Jan 31, 2015 5:30 pm

I am using your wind sensor, and it works wonderfully on 5v. The question I have is that the application it's going to be run in has to supply 5.15v This has a noticeable effect on the readings, is this something I will need new data on? Or do you think I can adjust it out?

Gbelcik,

Your best bet is to provide some kind of low dropout regulator. You may need a shunt regulator if you can't find a low-dropout regulator that will work with that low a dropout, at a current of around 50mA. The problem you're seeing is mostly with the temperature reading which is mostly a voltage divider.

None of the math for anything is linear, so trying to calibrate out the error is going to be tough.
