Confirm RX/TX connections

Post by threeputts » Fri Nov 09, 2012 11:02 am

I was taking a close look at the RBBB Pro today. It appears that the pin marked RX on the connection at the end of the board (adjacent to 'DTR') is connected to the pin marked TX on the side of the board (adjacent to 'D2'). The other TX/RX pair are similarly swapped. Can someone confirm this.

I can confirm that - and you can too with a meter on "beep" (continuity).

The thought was that the labels on the FTDI header reflected the pin names of the FTDI chip so
FTDI TX goes to chip RX etc.

The labels on the front of the board reflect the pin function from the "chip's" point of view.

Hope that helps,

Paul

Paul,

Yes, I had checked it with a meter, just needed some reassurance. I suspected that was the motivation.

Thanks for the reply.
